MAKER PARTIES

Maker Birthday Parties

Available on Saturdays and Sundays

We offer a variety of unique and creative maker themed parties for kids ages 4+.  Select a theme, reserve a date and time, choose a preferred package and then invite your guests. We do all the work. Option 1- Two hours of themed activities (all materials included), 2-staff members facilitating, a makelab reserved just for you  Option 2- Two hours of themed activities (all materials included), 2-staff members facilitating, a makelab reserved just for you, themed snacks and party favors for each guest.

  • $295/$355 for a two-hour party up to 8 participants
  • $325/$395 for a two-hour party up to 10 participants
  • $360/$440 for a two-hour party up to 12 participants

o    A non-refundable 50% deposit will be required to book your party.
o    Birthday add-ons such as themed piñatas or snacks are available for purchase for an additional cost.
o    $25 add-on for any additional participants (14 maximum)

Participants in this party will amaze their friends and families with their unique creation of stylish faux fashion glasses constructed with felt, trendy plastic lenses, conductive thread, battery pack and LED lights that light up their unique peepers. So much fashion fun!
Time to learn how to sew! Kids in this birthday .adventure will learn the basics of the machine while designing and creating their own plushie or pillow.
Just imagine little hands crafting their very own toys. Kids in this maker birthday bash learn how to create their very own Super Buzzer Game, using some circuitry and wood crafting skills. We are talking, drills, soldering irons and lots of construction fun.

This engineering party is for those who may get a kick out of building their own electric car with recycled materials, battery and motor. After cars are completed how much fun would it be to race them? We are talking Mindcraft Makerspace Speedway.

Kids love robots-In this birthday bot bash, kids will create their own motorized bot designed and built by them. Robots usually have a function, kids will get to choose whether to make a scribblebot that makes fun artistic pictures or a battlebot that can fight to the finish. Girls may choose to create a vibro-bot that is more about fashion than function. It’s up to you to select the bot flavor.
This tinkering adventure party is about kids selecting from a variety of recycled and misfit toys to take apart and harvest parts to reinvent their own toy or toy sculpture. Kids will learn how to re-use circuits to re-install into their own creation, such as buzzers, LED lights and buttons or switches. They may use our workshop tools to assist in the re-build. What a great way to spend birthday time together.
Puzzlers is all about puzzle making-kids in this workshop learn how to safely use some of our workshop tools to build and finish their choice of children’s book jigsaw puzzle (using the laser cutter) or rope puzzle and penny flip puzzle (using basic woodworking and shop tools). Then they get to spend the rest of the time solving each other’s puzzler creation.
Kids of all ages love Minecraft-In this party, kids will get to make a perler bead necklace or backpack key chain of a Minecraft character of choice, they will then get to play Minecraft bingo where everyone wins a prize and finally they will get to join each other in the super-exciting virtual world of Minecraft where they have the freedom to interact and build with each other- their own rules apply. No Creepers allowed!
Also known as Perler beads. Kids in this crafting birthday adventure will be led through a variety of projects to include a perler bead fidget spinner, necklaces, and backpack charm. Play their favorite music add some themed snacks and party favors and the rest is all-around birthday beading fun.
Kids will learn how to become master mixologists with just a few basic and kitchen ingredients, resulting in fragrant room fresheners, lip balm emulsions featuring fruity flavors and sun-protection properties, glycerin soap formulas, and colorful custom soap shapes to take home and enjoy. This is a hilariously funny birthday bash involving the transfiguration of creatures-the stuffed kind. Kids will select from a variety of stuffed and toy creatures, to remove parts and re-assemble in their very own transfigured creature. Some may be scary and others hysterically funny. Either way, kids will be able to hand-stitch, glue and craft for an undeniably unique experience.
Kids will bring their own 100% cotton t-shirts for transformation into a unique fashion must-have. They will be able to experiment with dyes, and learn how to create and apply their own vinyl created from a vinyl cutter that they learn how to use. Girls and boys alike will dig this total t-shirt makeover experience and leave with a shirt that no one else will have.
Let’s shoot something! In this adventurous birthday celebration kids, will be led through a making session where they will come out with a marshmallow shooter and sling-shot. They will get to cut, drill and construct and in the end complete with a variety of targets to sharpen their shooting skills. All kids will also make their own protective face mask. Don’t worry, we will ensure the cake is protected.
What kid does not love fidget spinners? In this fidget spinning frenzy kids will use a variety of materials and tools to make their own fidget spinners. Wood, acrylics, and other recycled materials will be used to create two very unique spinners to take home. All other spinners just cannot compare to ones that are made with their very own hands.

Non-School Day Learning Adventures

Don’t hire a baby sitter for those non-school days. Send your child to MindCraft Makerspace where students engage in creativity, DIY, inventing and engineering.  Where “getting your hands dirty” means bringing home something they made and can be proud of.

Non-school Day Learning Adventures are designed for students ages 5- 14. (kids are grouped by grade levels k-3 & 4-8)

You can sign up for a ½ day option (8:00-11:30 am or 12:00-3:30 pm) morning or afternoon or you can sign up for full day option morning and afternoon.

We offer supervised lunch in our makerspace at no additional charge for those signing up for both morning and afternoon classes.  Please pack a lunch for them.

We are a nut-free facility.

These unique learning adventures are $55 for ½ day session or $105 per full day session.   All materials are included.

10% sibling discount is available at Sign-up.  Just type the code ‘sibling’ as the discount code when registering the second or third child.

Need additional time?  Power Up My Day.  You can drop off as early as 7:30 am and pick up as late as 5:30 pm for an additional cost of $20 per child.

Slime Chemistry

Simple Machines

Simple machines make work easier for us by allowing us to push or pull over increased distances. Kids will learn about and make 6 different machine parts; lever, screw, pully, wedge, incline plane and wheels for purposes of invention.
Chain Reactions

Kids in this learning Adventure will learn about the 6 simple machines (lever, screw, pulley, wedge, incline plane and wheels) and their functions and be able to use them to create a fun Rube Goldberg Machine.
Jan 4 Junk Drawer Physics

Everybody’s got a junk drawer. But not everybody can learn about Newton’s Forces and Motion by inventing machines from a junk drawer.
Rubber Band Engineering

Kids are naturally born engineers and scientists. There is no fear of failure and they are incredibly inquisitive. Combine these natural traits with a challenge, a goal, the engineering design process, some rubber bands, popsicle sticks, and straws and who knows what can come of it?
Spinning Tops Physics

A spinning top is not just a child’s toy. This class will introduce kids to the world of sewing and crafting with fabric. They will learn how to hand stitch & sew on a machine,. They will choose from a variety of project options to sew.
Makey Makey Studio

Turn everyday objects into touchpads and combine them with the internet. It’s a simple Invention Kit for Beginners and Experts doing art, engineering, and everything in between.

In this Learning Adventure, kids will explore many of the applications developed for this fun kit.

Logic, critical-thinking and creative problem-solving is a key component to this creative class. Kids will work every day through different puzzles to test and build upon their higher-level thinking abilities like logic and strategy. They will be able to use a variety of materials and tools to create a few of their own puzzles to stump friends and family
Projectile Lab

Kids in this class will have a blast learning about the science behind projectile motion. They will craft different types of fun projectile launchers and catapults to test and improve, using a variety of materials. ​

There are so many games or toys you can make when you put a saw, a hammer, a drill, wood and paint in the hands of a kid.  In this Learning Adventure, students will learn how to properly use common workshop hand and power tools to design and construct a wooden game or interactive toy.
Jr. Music Makers

Students utilize circuit boards, alligator clips, microcontrollers and funky recycled materials to create their own musical instruments. Kids will love this unique musical invention camp!
Funkybots

In this Learning Adventure, students will learn about some of the latest innovations in robotics. They will use common household materials, and other easily attainable parts and accessories to explore and construct their own simple Funky robots and robot parts.
Mar 28 Magnetic Arts

Students in this class will explore physics through the remarkable world of magnets. Our young physicists will learn about magnets, the magnetic field and its properties and its relationship to electricity through art projects, games, and experimentation.  
Wheels In Motion

Drivers start your learning engines! Kids will explore scientific concepts such as Kinetic and potential energy, forces in motion, and mechanical engineering in this fun hands-on learning adventure.
Whatever Floats Your Boat

Buoyancy can be complicated.  In this Learning Adventure, kids will learn about what it takes to create a floating vessel.  Sails, mast, ballast and more.  Kids will learn what it takes to create vessels that not only stay afloat but can be propelled by a variety of methods.
String Art Crafting

This form of art is experiencing a resurgence and a favorite pass time for kids. Kids will design a unique string art project using a variety of power tools, to cut and form their base.

Kite Science

The four forces of flight (i.e. Lift, Weight, Drag, and Thrust) affect kites in the same way they affect airplanes, and anything else that flies. Lift is the upward force that pushes a kite into the air. In this Learning Adventure kids will combine science and art using a variety of materials to create a kite that flies.

Kids are fascinated with dragons. In this Learning Adventure. Kids will turn common household items into dragon puppets they can play with and entertain friends and family.

Celebrate the warm winds of spring with a colorful, breezy pinwheel! In this creative Learning adventure kids will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of wind energy by using a variety of materials to create a series of different pinwheels.
Whirlygig Wonders

Pinwheels, buzzers, gee-haws, & spinners are all examples of items kids will explore in this fun learning adventure.

A variety of materials and tools will be used for creating uniquely artistic whirligigs.

Earthly Helpers

Kids in this Learning adventure will learn how to use variety of materials to create habitats and feeders to a variety of birds and insects that live in the area.

With Earth Day coming up, this is a great opportunity for kids to look at trash or disposable consumer goods as an opportunity to create.
Recycled Robots
